House Objects : Persistence of Vision, 2005
3 minute dvd loop and forty-five digital prints
A video is made by circumnavigating a ledge displaying forty-five household objects. The camera speeds around the room, alighting momentarily on objects only to speed off again in pursuit of the next. The video is paired with silhouetted paintings of the objects –this is meant to underline the gesture inherent in each object. The objects are so simplified and stilled that they appear almost as if from memory.
